This was one of the first Illmind beats that I had heard. I was looking for a soulful track for a song I had written called "Got Soul?" and this beat fit the concept perfectly because it was soulful but it didn't contain any samples either. I reached out to Phonte & Big Pooh and they were down to rock without a question. No managers, no labels, or BS involved - just good music. This one's for North Carolina!

Ugly heroes is one of my favorite groups of all time. For me Verbal Kent's voice is just euphoric, and then you have Red Pill on top of that?! It's amazing but let's not get ahead of ourselves. Their talent only shines through so well because of Apollo here and I love it. I listen to the album nonstop and it inspires me when i write my own shit.
