about

The "song that has died a thousand deaths" is what I jokingly called "Nickeled Needles" for a long time. The first 2 original versions were recorded over Jake One beats but each beat got sold before we locked them down. I was set on bringing this song back to life and I chose the M-Phazes beat for it as soon as I heard it. The term "Nickeled Needles" represents a certain time period in hip hop where you had to make due with what you had because we didn't have the advantages of today's technology. No old school appreciation song can be done without a live DJ so that was mandatory. DJs Faust & Shortee opted to do the intro after hearing it so we sent them all of the sounds from the song and they recreated it all via FInal Scratch program and turntables from the drum patterns to the scratches.
